'Cause it's a world I know.

Mele - Rinju Kamereonken
This song grew on me the past few weeks, but not because he sang this recently. I just thought the words suit me, especially those in bold.

Has our conscience shown
Has the sweet breeze blown?
Has all kindness gone?
Hope still lingers on.

I drink myself a newfound pity
Sit around in New York City
and I don’t know why.

Are we listening
to Hymns of offering
Have we the eyes you seek
Love is gathering.
All the words that I’ve been reading
Have now started the act of bleeding
Into one.

So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below…
And I laugh at myself
While the tears roll down
Cause’ it’s a world I know
Oh It’s a world I know.

Know...

A world I know Oh.

Writer's Block: For the Day Off...

David Cook - my guitar hero

If you've got Monday off, how are you spending it, and with whom?

View other answers

Perfect question for me whose one day off falls on a Monday. Well, for this month that is.

My typical Monday off includes doing laundry, sleeping, going online (mostly the whole day) and TV/DVD marathon. In short, I'm a homebuddy and I rarely go out. So I obviously spend the day with the folks at home. When I do go out, I'd often go to the mall, mostly looking around for some stuff.

Speaking of Mondays, the upcoming one is actually a holiday in lieu of June 12th or Independence Day. So unfortunately I won't be getting any additional pay. However, I'm hoping the account will open overtime on that day and I won't hesitate coming to work, even for just four hours. Sana lang talaga.

Writer's Block: Improvised Parenting?!

David Cook kiss-u! :3

Let's say you're a hobgoblin for 24 hours. What sort of havoc would you wreak?

Or:

If a baby of unknown origins suddenly fell into your care, would you keep it? What would you name it?

View other answers

FYI, I'm answering the latter part.

I won't hesitate in adopting the baby, even if it's equated with more responsibilities and strict budget management. Sure, the child may eventually be makulit (which would cause my patience to easily snap out), but I'll definitely do anything I can for him/her to grow up with good values and fear in God.

As for the names, I always thought the name Nicky was cute. Plus it's unisex so whether my child is male or female, Nicky still suits him/her. Of course my preference changes from time to time, so I'll figure it out once I actually have a child. The big question is when. :P

David Cook smiling in tears

Notice this post came out more than two hours after I found out the verdict. Gomen nasai, but I was too elated earlier to update my blog. Nahimasmasan na ako ngayon. Hehe.

Anyway...

CONGRATULATIONS DAVID COOK!!!

I really knew you would win. And you truly deserve it. Way to go, my dear Cookie! <333

Looks like Simon's reverse psychology worked! Lol. The waiting was quite tricky for me because I was only getting updates from liveblogging and forums. Apparently, our office's cable TV has no Star World. ~_~;;; I almost broke down and cry (here in my workstation) when the winner was announced. But I was able to hold back tears, instead, I threw my hands in the air and exclaimed "Yattadooo!!!" ("You did it!" in Japanese) while some of my officemates had mixed reactions with the outcome.

So there. Although I only managed to cast 175 votes, I'm so glad they had helped! If today happened to be my day off and watched the live telecast, I would imitate Shun Oguri's victory pose in Binbo Danshi and say...

VICTORY!!!

Sorry if this post sounds random. I just can't contain my happiness. (read: I'm in Cookie Heaven now! Haha!) I'll definitely be there when Cookie visits Manila.

*Nakao mode* HAPPY!!! ^_^v

OK. Back to work. I have tons to do today. Argh! And I have yet to see the finale. I have to watch it TONIGHT!

David Cook for the win!

David Cook rocks
To everyone I know who is in the States right now, I know you are aware that American Idol season seven is coming its conclusion in less than 48 hours. Please do vote for David Cook because he really deserves to win.

These banners are created by [info]masayahin. Uy, kabayan! :)

*sigh* I really wish I'm in the States now so I can really vote. But, this is all I can do for him, for now.

So... while we're counting down to "judgment time", here are some random David Cook pics I found in [info]davidcookai7.

Warning: Too much hotness under the cut! )

Ganbatte ne, Cookie! And congrats too making it this far. No matter what the turnout of the votes will be, you're already an American Idol to me. :)

Rest in peace, Shigure.

Tetsu lied down
Our pet dog Shigure passed away earlier this afternoon. He is truly an irreplaceable pet and my family will treasure him for a lifetime.

We will miss him dearly. Arigatou, Shigure. See you in heaven.

Love, Me.

Globe Telecom to carry iPhone in the Philippines!

I know many Globe subscribers are raving now, and I'm one of them. Now for the Smart and sun loyalists, you have to read the write-ups to understand why Globe was chosen. After that, start convincing your telecom providers to follow suit. Who knows? Maybe Apple would agree to have more than one iPhone carrier here. Try nyo lang. :D

Anyway,  this is good news for me. I now have the reason to extend my contract with them, which will expire by early next year. If rumors are true that the Asian region will straightly sell 3G iPhones later this year, AND if Apple is able to prove its competence, I wouldn't hesitate getting one. Otherwise, my heart still belongs to the iPod touch (read: I'll STILL get an iPod touch even if I have an iPhone).

Let's see what happens in the next few months as the details are being uncovered.

Writer's Block: Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep

What is one thing you MUST do before you go to bed at night?

Submitted by [info]twink

View other answers

Yes, I'm finally breaking my two-week silence. I'm still alive!

Anyway, the prerequisite to my bedtime is simply... hitting the shower. I make sure I take a bath first before going to bed, regardless of the weather outside. I usually bathe at night without hot water, save for rainy days and the cold season. And since I'm in the bathroom, I'd also do other routines such as shaving my legs (occasionally), wash my face thoroughly and brush my teeth of course. Now, why this habit? It's because having a shower helps me loosen up after a stressful day, especially at work when I have tons to accomplish within the day. So, it basically contributes a good night sleep for me. ^_^

What's your Japanese Name?

Nakatsu thumbs up!
I saw [info]sober_me's post about this. I thought I'd try it myself. So I took the test which only asked me my name and gender, and look what I got...

Your Japanese Name Is...

Not bad, ne? So you guys can call me Mika now. Hehe. :D

Somebody installed Skype on our home PC, so I finally decided to sign up an account. Peeps, please do add me up! My username's edgebaybeh. Yes... BEYBEH! Haha! Just tell me who you are (save probably for relatives and close friends) and I'll add you back. Otherwise, I have to ask first how did you find out about me. I'm careful of stalkers around.

Ewww on this entry's icon. But it's funny nonetheless. Hehe.

OK. Back to work.

Writer's Block: Where in the World...

If you were independently wealthy, where in the world would you live and how would you spend your time?

View other answers

Hmmm.. good question. I guess for yuppies like me, it's like where do I want to spend the rest of my life in. For this, I have three options.

1) Philippines - You know what? Despite all those unnecessary political noises, I'd still want to stay in the Philippines until God knows when. Although I'd prefer settling in one of those islands in Palawan and savor the bliss of living in there. I saw an episode of Trip Na Trip sometime ago and there are islands that are available for occupation. Of course, you have to buy the WHOLE island before building your abode. If I'm wealthy enough, I wouldn't hesitate getting one and enjoy the beautiful scenery and the beach most of all. Plus, I'd be away from the chaotic life in the city.

2) USA - I've been dreaming of going there since I was little. Of course back then I wanted to visit Disneyland, Universal Studios and other famouse places there. But as I grew, I wanted to know how is it like to actually live there. If I have that much MUCH money, I'd settle in somewhere in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

3) Japan - If you guys know me real enough, I guess there's no need for explanation here. But for everyone to know, let's just say my continuous fascination in that country, their culture and people is the reason I want to be one of their expats at least. It may take time for me to learn their language, but just the thought of myself residing there is good enough. Plus, I'd get the chance to see (or meet - hopefully) real cute guys, like HIM! Haha! Yes, he's my current crush object. (Sorry Tetsu, move over!) Blame me now for enjoying Hana Kimi too much. :P

Nakatsu thumbs up!

What do you love about where you live?

View other answers

First of all, I live uptown, so we're very far from the buzz and rush of city life. It's not much noisy unless there's a videoke playing or a party nearby. Star gazing is also possible at night. Second, I met a lot of people here but only few friendships were kept. Third, our church here is very close to home, just a five minute walk away. And all the accessibility to other places nearby.

summer and work don't mix!

  • Apr. 4th, 2008 at 9:49 PM
Tetsu lied down

For some reason, my summer excitement went down the drain. The culprit? Stress due to workload backlog. We're experiencing it for more than a week now, and we're completely toxicated already. Most of the time, I had to extend a few hours after my shift just to finish all my workload for the day. As result, I've been lacking sleep and I feel tired most of the day. In the midst of the backlog, I'm also undergoing a training for Quality Specialist. It will last for three months, and we have just started this week. So far so good. However, I couldn't put the lectures into practice due to... yes. Backlog. Oh, please! I don't want stress to take its toll on me.

Anyway, thank God for Wyeth. I think these free one week supply of Stresstabs I got from them will do the trick. Let's see. I need to look errr... un-stressed these days. I want to be prepared, well, just in case I bumped into someone somewhere.

Thank God also for Hana Kimi. That wonderful JDrama's (plus its soundtrack) capable of keeping my sanity, somehow.

Writer's Block: Sick Day

What is your favorite thing about being sick?

View other answers

Being sick means:

- Having extended rest day/s! (But no health bonus for me for that particular month... T_T)
- Get much sleep as I want, even full 24 hours. (My most favorite part!)
- An excuse not to keep in touch with anyone outside home.
- VIP treatment, somehow.
- Losing some weight, because sometimes I have poor appetite when sick.
- Getting messages from people to wish me well.
